Which email providers can I connect?

How long does setup take?

About two minutes. You sign in to each account with OAuth, Parrot syncs your recent mail in the background, and categorization starts on the very first message. There are no filters or rules to write.

Do I have to give up my existing address?

Accepted Answer

No. Parrot is a client, not a new mailbox. You keep every address you already use — Parrot just gives you one place to read and answer all of them.

Where does my email actually live?

Exactly where it always has — on Gmail, Outlook, or your IMAP server. Parrot stores no mailbox of its own. It connects to your providers over their official APIs, reads what you need on demand, keeps everything in sync, and layers AI on top. Nothing to migrate, nothing to import.

Is there a mobile app?

Parrot runs in any modern browser and installs to your home screen as a PWA, so it works offline-first on phones and tablets today. Native iOS and Android apps are in development.

How do the AI-drafted replies stay in my voice?

Parrot reads up to 50 of your own sent messages once and measures how you actually write: your usual greeting and sign-off, how often you use either, your median reply length, and your rates of emoji, exclamation marks, contractions and bullets. Ten of those thirteen signals are counted arithmetically in plain code — no model guessing involved. Only formality, your recurring quirks and your language are inferred. The result is handed to Parrot every time it drafts, suggests a reply, or rewrites your tone.

What exactly does Parrot measure about my writing?

Thirteen things: your top greetings and sign-offs, how often you open and close a message at all, your median body length, your emoji, exclamation, contraction and bullet rates, your typical number of paragraphs, plus formality on a 1-5 scale, up to four recurring quirks, and the language you write in. A greeting or sign-off has to hold across 60% of your mail before Parrot treats it as a habit — it will never assert something from a single sighting. Does it learn from the edits I make to a draft?

Yes — that is the main way it improves. When you change a draft before sending, Parrot mechanically diffs what it wrote against what you actually sent and reads the difference: greeting added or removed, sign-off added or removed, emoji, exclamations, contractions, and whether you made it shorter or longer. Those twelve corrections come in six opposing pairs, and a habit needs to be seen twice before Parrot acts on it. Reverse yourself and the old habit is deleted rather than stacked, so it can never end up holding two contradictory instructions. If you send a draft untouched, that counts too.

Can I turn the voice off, or make it forget something?

Both, from Settings under "Your voice". There is a single toggle that stops Parrot writing in your voice at all, you can delete any individual habit it has learned, and you can make it re-read your sent mail from scratch at any time. It refreshes itself every couple of weeks regardless.

How does the AI categorization actually work?

Every message is read the moment it arrives and tagged — work, finance, travel, social, updates, personal, or important. You can re-label anything in one keystroke, and your label always wins over the model's.

Does Parrot ever send email on its own?

Never. Drafts wait for you. Nothing leaves your outbox without an explicit send from you.

What can I do with natural-language search?

Ask the way you'd ask a colleague — "the contract Dana sent last spring" or "invoices still unpaid" — and Parrot searches across every connected account at once, meaning included, not just keywords.

Is my email used to train AI models?

Accepted Answer

No. Your mail is never used as training data, for us or for anyone else, and nothing you write is retained by a model provider to improve their models. Categorizing a message and drafting a reply both send the text needed for that one request to a model, which returns an answer and keeps nothing — the calls are stateless and the content is discarded straight after. Your mailbox itself is never copied; it stays on Gmail, Outlook or your IMAP server.

How is my data stored and encrypted?

Your email is never copied onto our servers — it stays on your provider, and Parrot reads it live over their API. What we do hold is minimal: your OAuth tokens in an isolated secrets vault, plus the lightweight metadata needed to keep accounts in sync. Everything in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.3, everything at rest with AES-256.

Can I delete my account and my data?

Any time, from Settings. Disconnecting revokes our access instantly, and every trace of your data is purged from our systems within 30 days — no support ticket, no retention call.

Do you support SSO and team controls?

Accepted Answer

SAML SSO, SCIM provisioning, audit logs, and enforced retention policies are available for teams of 25 or more. Talk to sales and we'll walk you through the security review.

Can I cancel if it isn't for me?

Any time, in one click from Settings. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and we don't charge you again after that.

What's the difference between Pro and Ultimate?

Ultimate is $24/month and adds the work Parrot does without being asked — a reply drafted the moment important mail arrives, and daily and weekly digests of your inbox — plus unlimited accounts and priority support. AI is unlimited on both, with no monthly action count, just a fair-use rate limit that normal use never reaches. Yearly billing saves up to 20%.

What happens if I cancel?

Your connected accounts disconnect cleanly and your mail stays exactly where it has always been — on your provider. You keep read access to Parrot until the end of the billing period, and we don't hold your data hostage.
